Anchor Bay High School serves the small lakeside communities around New Baltimore and Fair Haven in northern Macomb County, right where Anchor Bay opens into Lake St. Clair. Butch Hartman grew up here and graduated in 1983, years before he created the Nickelodeon cartoons The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom, shows that shaped a generation of American animation. Kathleen Rose Perkins, who later became known for the Showtime series Episodes, came through the same school about a decade later, graduating in 1992. The school has grown along with the surrounding district over the years, and it remains the only public high school serving the Anchor Bay area today, with a student body of well over a thousand.
