Amore da Roma

Italian dining in the old Roma Cafe building by Eastern Market: house-made pasta and more than a century of history.

01 / The story of this place

Make time for these

Amore da Roma sits in the building the Marazza family put up in 1888 to feed Eastern Market's vendors and farmers, which became Roma Cafe in 1890. John Battaglia and Morris Sossi bought it in 1918, and the Sossi family kept Roma Cafe going until 2017. That July, Chef Guy Pelino, who had been Roma's executive chef for four years, reopened it as Amore da Roma. Expect a family-run, chef-led kitchen turning out house-made pastas and classic Italian dishes with seasonal ingredients.
