400 Monroe Associates is the Detroit company Ted and Maria Gatzaros formed in 1985 to save the empty Ferry Seed building at 400 Monroe instead of seeing it razed for parking. The renovated International Center now wraps a 10-story atrium with an indoor waterfall the company bills as the world's tallest. Led today by Maria Gatzaros as a certified women-owned business, it manages office buildings plus the London Chop House, Fishbones Greektown and the Atheneum Suites Hotel. Businesses call them for downtown office or retail space.
