The Detroit story
Sarah Pidgeon grew up in Birmingham, one of Detroit's northern suburbs, and got her start on local stages: as a child she performed in plays at the Community House in downtown Birmingham and spent summers at the Interlochen Arts Camp. She attended Birmingham Groves High School and then Interlochen Arts Academy, graduating in 2014, and earned a BFA from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama in 2018. Television roles in Amazon's The Wilds and Hulu's Tiny Beautiful Things led to her Broadway debut in David Adjmi's Stereophonic (2024), a play about a 1970s rock band in the studio, which brought her a Tony nomination. In 2025 she starred in I Know What You Did Last Summer, and in 2026 her portrayal of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy in the FX series Love Story earned critical acclaim and an Emmy nomination. Her training began in Birmingham's community theater.
