The Detroit story
After winning three straight NBA titles as a rotation forward with the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, Buechler signed with Detroit in 1999 as the franchise began rebuilding after the Bulls' dynasty broke up. He spent three seasons with the Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills, providing depth and championship experience to a young roster, before being traded to Phoenix in 2002. Though his Detroit years never matched the glory of his Chicago championships, they were the longest single stint of his twelve-season NBA career, and he later moved into coaching.
