The Detroit story
Jerebko became the second Swedish-born player drafted into the NBA when Detroit picked him 39th overall in 2009, and he made an immediate impact, starting most of his rookie season and averaging over nine points a game at the Palace of Auburn Hills. A torn Achilles tendon cost him most of his second season, but he re-signed with the Pistons in 2011 on a four-year contract and remained a rotation forward through 2015, giving the club six seasons of steady, hard-nosed play during a rebuilding era. He later played for Boston, Utah and Golden State, winning an NBA championship with the Warriors in 2018, but Detroit remained the longest stop of his career.
