The Detroit story
Johnny Pacar was born Johnny Edward Pacuraru in Dearborn and is of partial Romanian descent. He grew up in western Wayne County and graduated from Wayne Memorial High School in the city of Wayne, then moved from Michigan to Los Angeles in May 2001 to pursue acting. He soon had a recurring role as Jimmy Francis in NBC's 1960s family drama American Dreams and starred in the Disney Channel movie Now You See It... (2005). He is best known to younger audiences as Cody Jackson, one of the stranded teenagers in Discovery Kids' Flight 29 Down, and as Damon Young, the musician boyfriend in ABC Family's gymnastics drama Make It or Break It. He also performs as a musician.
