The Detroit story
Detroit drafted Greg Monroe seventh overall in 2010 after a standout freshman season at Georgetown, and he spent five seasons as a Pistons forward-center. He became the team's last player to wear No. 10, which the Pistons retired for Dennis Rodman in 2011. Monroe developed into a steady scorer and rebounder, and in 2013–14 he became just the second Piston, after Grant Hill, to record three straight seasons with at least 1,000 points and 600 rebounds. Detroit tendered him a qualifying offer in 2014, but Monroe left as an unrestricted free agent after the 2014–15 season.
