The Detroit story
Faye Grant was born in St. Clair Shores, on Lake St. Clair just northeast of Detroit, in 1957, and graduated from Lake Shore High School in 1975. Her first television role was Rhonda Blake, one of the students of the reluctant superhero in The Greatest American Hero. Her best-known part came in 1983 as Juliet Parrish, the young scientist who leads the human resistance against reptilian invaders in NBC's miniseries V, a role she continued in V: The Final Battle (1984) and V: The Series (1984–1985). On Broadway she won a Theatre World Award and a Drama Desk nomination in 1985 as the squeaky-voiced silent star Lina Lamont in the stage version of Singin' in the Rain, and she later played in the Lincoln Center revival of The House of Blue Leaves. She also appeared in Tales of the Gold Monkey and 7th Heaven.
