The Detroit story
The Pistons drafted Brown 42nd overall out of Miami in 2018, and he spent his first two pro seasons in Detroit learning to guard multiple positions on a rebuilding roster at the team's new downtown arena. He moved on to Brooklyn as a free agent in 2020, and his defensive versatility and hustle plays eventually made him a valuable role player for a string of contenders, most notably the Denver Nuggets, where he was a key bench piece on their 2023 championship team. He has since played for the Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Pelicans.
