The Detroit story
Gordon arrived in Detroit in July 2009 on a five-year contract after making his name as a dangerous outside shooter with the Chicago Bulls. With the Pistons in decline after their championship-era run, he continued the role that had made him famous, coming off the bench to score in bursts; in one game he poured in 45 points trying to rally Detroit from a 25-point deficit against Denver. He played three seasons at the Palace of Auburn Hills without ever making the playoffs with the team, and in June 2012 Detroit traded him to the Charlotte Bobcats in the deal that brought Corey Maggette to the Pistons.
