The Detroit story
Baynes signed with Detroit in July 2015 after two seasons in San Antonio, where he had won an NBA title in 2014. In two seasons with the Pistons he played his familiar role: a physical, defense-minded center who backed up the frontcourt and set hard screens, playing his home games at the Palace of Auburn Hills. He later moved on to the Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors, and closed his career back home in Australia with the Brisbane Bullets.
