Immanuel Wilkins Quartet

His tight-knit quartet includes Micah Thomas on piano, Daryl Johns on bass, and Kweku Sumbry on drums, performing together again on the stunning sophomore album The 7th Hand. This album explores presence and nothingness in a seven-movement suite lasting about an hour. Wilkins pushes beyond typical jazz forms, drawing inspiration from critical thought, even challenging ideas of sanctification in the album's artwork.
