The Chris Potter Trio
Grammy-nominated saxophonist Chris Potter played at Cliff Bell’s in Detroit on Wednesday, December 2, at 8 p.m. He brought his highly regarded jazz trio to town. Tickets were $30.
Chris Potter is one of jazz’s leading saxophonists, often compared to the craftiness of Joe Henderson. His playing focuses on music over spectacle, delivering performances full of creativity and swing. A Grammy nominee, Potter has worked with artists like Steely Dan and Herbie Hancock, and toured globally with the Dave Holland Quintet, the Overtone Quartet, and his own jazz-funk group, Chris Potter’s Underground. His concert at Cliff Bell’s showcased his trio’s strong musicianship and high-level artistry.
