The Old Man and the Old Moon
Wayne State University Theatre and Dance presents The Old Man and the Old Moon on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at the Hilberry Gateway in Detroit—an imaginative sea-faring epic with storms, leviathans, cranky ghosts, and a choice between duty and love. Tickets available from the theater.
An Old Man has tended the moon for as long as he can remember. When the Old Woman follows a mysterious melody from their past, he leaves routine for love and adventure, launching into an epic voyage with apocalyptic storms, civil wars, deep‑sea leviathans, cantankerous ghosts—and the toughest foe of all: change. A playful, big-hearted stage tale about devotion and wonder.
This Large Cast Edition is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals. Venue: Hilberry Gateway, Detroit. Tickets available from the theater.
