One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show
Wayne State University Theatre and Dance stages the comedy One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show on Saturday, October 3, at 7:30 p.m. at Hilberry Gateway in Detroit. A sharp suburban family tangle with “hilarious complications.” Tickets available online.
Set in suburban Philadelphia, Reverend Avery Harrison clings to his status while his wife Myra’s malapropisms and son Felix’s discovery of sex keep the chaos humming. Enter Beverly, the country cousin who’s far shrewder than she looks, and Caleb Johnson, a swaggering nightclub partner tied to her late father. Passions rekindle, nerves fray, and schemes collide in fast, funny fashion.
