Organized by Downtown Birmingham, the Birmingham Farmers Market runs Sundays from May 3 to October 25, 2026, 9 a.m.–2 p.m., at Public Parking Lot 6 in Birmingham. Expect Michigan-grown produce, meat and dairy, flowers, artisan goods, plus live music and food trucks.

On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 3 p.m., the Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea (137 Park Street) stages Bastard, Devin Scillian's dramedy about two brothers who share nothing but a last name: an aging country rocker and a buttoned-down financial whiz. Their mother's death reopens old wounds, and a new one could tear the family apart. Heads-up: adult language and subject matter.

The Henry Ford hosts a Hallowe'en-themed buffet supper on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 4 p.m. at A Taste of History in Greenfield Village, Dearborn—kids can meet storybook and spooky characters from Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village.

The Henry Ford's evening Halloween walk returns to Greenfield Village in Dearborn for its 46th season, October 1–4, 8–11, 15–18 and 22–25 (Thursdays to Sundays), 6–9:30 p.m., with more than 50 costumed characters and scenes from The Wizard of Oz and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Tickets run $28–$42, and several nights sell out, so book early.

The Long family has farmed the same stretch of Commerce Road since 1876, and for their 150th fall the Fun Farm is open Fridays through Sundays, October 2 through November 1, with 20+ attractions, a corn maze and a hayride to the U-Pick Pumpkin Patch. Admission is $19 online or $21 at the gate.

Join the American Red Cross Parent & Child Aquatics program at the SDC Pool in Houghton for ages 6 months to 3 years. A parent must accompany the child in the water. The course helps children become comfortable with water and teaches swimming readiness, while providing important water safety information for parents.
