Mark Hershberger and the Detroit Jazz Project

Mark Hershberger created the Detroit Jazz Project after studying jazz with greats like Marcus Belgrave and Sam Sanders in the AFRAM Big Band. He furthered his jazz and classical studies at Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan, leading groups in Ann Arbor and Detroit. Mark performed with Motown and STAX artists such as Sam and Dave and Cecil Womack. His career includes performances at iconic venues like Baker's Keyboard Lounge and the Detroit International Jazz Festival. Having recorded 22 songs and won Detroit Music Awards for Outstanding Modern Jazz Group and Outstanding World Recording Group, Mark brought his seasoned jazz sound to the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe, delivering an evening rooted in Detroit's rich jazz heritage.
