Michael Zaporski

Michael Zaporski’s music combines American jazz traditions with West African-inspired rhythms, shaped by his time with the late Detroit saxophonist Sam Sanders. Supported by the U.S. State Department, he performed and taught jazz in West Africa and collaborated with icons like Jackie McLean and Art Blakey. Leading his band FutureVisions and performing with the Planet D. Nonet, Zaporski has delivered energetic shows featuring African rhythms and haunting melodies.
