Five things to know before your first room

  1. Book ahead

    Most places are booking-only, and weekend evenings fill up fast. The booking calendar shows which room is free when.

  2. Private room or mixed group?

    Some places may team you up with strangers unless you book the whole room. If you only want your own crew, look for a private booking.

  3. Get there a little early

    Most places run a short briefing first and ask you to sign a waiver. Arrive late and it usually comes out of your game time.

  4. Don’t be shy about hints

    The game master is watching and will give you a hint when you’re stuck. It doesn’t make the win smaller, just the mood better.

  5. Kids or horror: check the rules

    Age limits differ by venue and by room. We list what each venue publishes, but double-check on their own site before you go.
